The name and the territory

Castagnamoro winery takes its name from an ancient toponym used to call the hilly area of San Giorgio di Perlena, a hamlet of Fara Vicentino (VI), which stretched between Fortelongo, Micheloni and Poletti streets. This territory, which is part of the DOC Breganze, is still characterized by deep, loose, fine textured soils, with no or scarce medium or fine gravel skeleton, with neutral reaction, not calcareous, and with a good level of drainage which allow the production of quality wines, just like other IGT wines from Veneto.

Owners

United by the passion for wine, the whole production process, from the care of vineyards to bottling, is directly followed by us: Renzo (graduated in Viticulture and enology science and technology and Viticulture, Oenology and the Wine Market at the University of Padova) and Nevilla

Our Production

Our vineyard is consist by many types of grapes: among the black berried ones there is Merlot, a grape originally from Gironde in south-west France, and Syrah, another black berried grape probably coming from Iran near the city of Shiraz, from which Moro wine is made;

Cabernet Sauvignon, originally from Gironde, in the areas of Médoc and Graves-Saint-Amant, base material used for the production of our Racemus Wines

Among white berried grapes, we find one of the productions which characterizes us the most, Manzoni Bianco, a grape born from a cross between Pinot Bianco and Riesling Renano from which we obtain our Chiaro wine

Our selection is completed by Pinot Gris, a variant of Pinot Noir from which it differs only for the color of its berries, and by Chardonnay, originally from Burgundy, first cultivated by the Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Pontigny, from where it gradually spread throughout the world, a perfect blend for the production of our fine Cambusco.

Our method

All of our vines are trained to the guyot method, a particular form that requires a reduced number of bunches per vine in order to promote a better quality of juice in the berry.
Our production is therefore a niche production and for this reason each vinification is carried out by us with great commitment and attention, carefully controlling each stage of the process to ensure that the scents and aromas of this extraordinary territory arrive unaltered in each of your glasses.

they taste secrets.”
